Department of Medical Ultrasound
The GEPEA professional Ultrasound training physical campus and approved training center is located at Mukundopatty, Barisal Sadar, Barisal, Bangladesh at The CPTR (Center for Professional Training and Research) through the Headship of Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam. In the department of Medical Ultrasound, we have other senior faculties from national and international in Medical Ultrasound, imaging and radiation sciences.
Medical ultrasound program is one of the most demanding courses globally. Due to the technical issues and sophisticated equipment used in hands-on training sessions, we agree to perform the
best to offer quality education and training. Department of Medical Ultrasound and scope of offering courses in medical ultrasound such as i) Diploma in Medical Ultrasound course ii) PGD (Post Graduate Diploma) in Medical Ultrasound course, iii) MSc. and M.Phil. in Medical Ultrasound course, iv) PhD in Medical Ultrasound course. This course is else offered by the Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences as a distance education course.
Course Objective: This course is generally aimed at students who are already qualified radiographers or MBBS or equivalent degree who are looking at specializing in medical ultrasound.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Eligibility criteria for enrollment: MBBS or equivalent degree.
Course duration: One year
Mode of study: Hybrid mode (online and classroom based)
Semester: Two

Professional development
- Hands-on training: At least 400 hours scanning at an approved a clinical set up under a
supervisor, maintaining logbook of scanning record
2. Observation: At least 300 hours observation of scanning techniques and protocols at an
approved clinical set up.
International applicants
Suitably qualified International students wishing to undertake any of the degree: i) Diploma in Medical Ultrasound course ii) PGD (Post Graduate Diploma) in Medical Ultrasound course, iii) MSc. and M.Phil. in Medical Ultrasound course, iv) PhD in Medical Ultrasound course in their country of residence must also satisfy the Department of Medical Ultrasound/Imaging and Radiation Sciences in respect to the appropriateness of their proposed ultrasound clinical training placement and clinical supervision.
Approved international ultrasound clinical training placements currently in the CPTR located at Barisal Sadar, Barisal, Bangladesh.
